Information on Spring 19 FSU Executive Committee elections

Dear Members,

The Faculty Staff Union (FSU) holds an election every Spring semester for positions on the FSU Executive Committee. 

The positions up for election or re-election include:

Vice-President

Pre-tenure (1 position),

Tenured (2 positions),

Non-Tenure track (2 positions). 

The attached documents contains information regarding the election process specifically on nominations and campaigning.

Also attached is the official Nomination Form.  The nomination period is Friday, January 25th to Friday, February 8th. 

REMINDER: FSU VP Election changes

Dear FSU Member,

FSU Executive Committee Vice President John Hess has resigned from the position.

The position of Vice President is now vacant. The position is one of the Executive Committee positions up for election Spring 2019. 

Your health care premiums will increase 3 percent unless we push back

Dear Colleague,

It looks like the Group Insurance Commission wants to increase your health care costs by 3% (see the info from the GIC below).  Please let them know what you think during their ‘listening tour’ before they make decisions that increase costs or reduce services (see attached flyer).

NTT Promotion Application Deadline is Monday, January 28th

Dear Non Tenure Track Faculty Member,

For NTTs eligible to apply for promotion this academic year, the deadline to apply is the first day of the Spring 19 semester—Monday, January 28, 2019.

For more information on the NTT promotion application process see Article 21.12 of the contract as well as the primer on NTT contract rights on the FSU website.

Parking MOA Ratification Vote Result

Dear FSU members,

Voting on the ratification of the Parking Memorandum of Agreement ended at 10AM today.

The results are:

YES   206  52%   

NO    190  47%

Number of members who voted was 396 which is 52% of eligible voters.

The Elections Committee thanks all members for voting.

Ratification Vote Reminder. Voting closes Friday 10AM.

Dear FSU members,

The FSU Parking Memorandum of Agreement ratification vote is coming to a close. Voting will conclude at 10AM  on Friday, December 14th .

Your ballot was sent to you by Ballotbin, which is the  software we use for our elections. In a few cases, the emailed ballot  was directed by members’ email providers into spam, promotions, or junk folders, so make sure to check those.
