Hands off our Healthcare! Stop the GIC Increase: What You Can Do

Dear Faculty and Librarians,

Right now, Governor Healey is asking the Group Insurance Commission (GIC) to shift $100 million in healthcare costs from the Commonwealth onto us. If this goes through, it will mean higher co-pays, deductibles, and premiums, along with the elimination of coverage for critical prescriptions such as GLP-1s.

Visa Updates & Faculty Q&A with Joe Berger, Monday, February 2nd at 4PM zoom

Last semester, a group of international faculty met with Provost Berger on changes to H-1B visas. It was agreed to meet again to follow up on visas related issues. This is open to all international faculty to discuss issues related to visas and travel. (contact FSU or Caroline Coscia for Zoom information).

Proposed Increases in Health Insurance Costs- Join the Fight to Stop the Increases

Dear Members,

Last Friday you received an email from Marie Bowen, Vice Chancellor of Human Resources, confirming when we will receive our January 2026 pay raise.

This is great news but some of that raise may be taken away by changes in our health insurance plans.

This is the last Nuts & Bolts of the semester. Although you will not receive another until January 26, the FSU works all year.  During winter break, the FSU is here to answer any questions or concerns you may have, albeit a few days off in the next couple of weeks.  If there is an urgent or important issue that arises, we will inform you.
