4/17/2018

Dear Colleague,

We hope you had a restful long weekend.  Here’s the news:

UMB Community Meeting:  Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 18, at 12 noon in Campus Center Ballroom A,  we will be discussing the UMass Mt. Ida Acquisition, parking fee increases, budget cuts to Centers and Institutes, providing debt relief to UMB, how we can Stand up for UMass Boston at this key juncture.  See the FSU Facebook Event Page here.  Please attend!

► Mount Ida acquisition:   The Board of Higher Education’s Academic Affairs Committee will be meeting on this on Tuesday, April 24, at 9 am at One Ashburton Place, Conference Room 1, 21st floor.  If you want to give a 3 minute public comment, email EQuiroz@dhe.mass.edu.  The Board of Higher Education members will be attending this meeting.

► Contact your State Reps:  Various bills are on the docket to provide budget relief to UMB, fund the UMB Centers and Institutes, and fund our collective bargaining raises.  Click the following to send support for these to your reps.  Because these will be taken up next Monday or Tuesday, contact your Reps today: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/saveumbemailsapril2018

►Parking bargaining:  Let us know if you are willing to give testimony in bargaining on how their proposed parking fee increase will impact you or your students.  For those of you opposing the parking fee increase who have yet to do so, please sign and circulate this petition here.

For FSU members in good standing--
