► Let’s raise $43 million per year for UMB tomorrow, Thursday, March 21: We are supporting the Cherish Act that will raise an additional $43 million for UMB per year and over $500 million for higher education in Massachusetts:
► Meeting on sexual harassment policies and procedures, TODAY, Wednesday March 20: 12-1 pm: The administration is proposing changes to the sexual harassment policy and procedures to the FSU. Come discuss with the FSU team your thoughts and needs on this issue in Wheatley, 5th floor room 41. Pizza will be served.
►Retirement counseling from the MTA. Sessions are available in their Quincy and Worcester offices to help members decide the best time to retire, determine if you have buy-back opportunities, provide information on retiree health insurance, Medicare and Social Security benefits, and answer many other questions. Please see here for more information and to schedule an appointment.
►We are seeking input on this budget and will be holding a meeting on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2 pm (Campus Center, first floor meeting room, 1313) for input as well. You can also email your thoughts to fsu@umb.edu. A final version of the proposed FY20 budget will be sent to members in advance of the FSU Annual Meeting (members can contact FSU for copies of the working budget).
►The FSU Annual Meeting will be held Thursday, May 9th, 2PM-3:30PM (room to be determined). We will be giving reports, receiving your feedback, listening to your areas of concern, and approving the final budget at this meeting. New business items need to be submitted by 4 pm, April 18 to fsu@umb.edu to be considered per new FSU policies here.
► Fourth year/tenure review workshop: by the Office for Faculty Development and the FSU will be Thursday, March 28 at 2 pm in the campus center room 2545. Learn about the process and get tips on how to prepare for these and have successful reviews.
►MTA Annual Meeting: The Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) Annual Meeting will be held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Friday and Saturday, May 3-4. Let us know if you want to be a delegate to this meeting. For more information, see www.massteacher.org/annualmeeting.
