This week includes a variety of items including an invitation to the FSU fall semester member gathering, and an announcement seeking a member to serve as our representative to the Health & Safety committee.
FSU Member Gathering is Wednesday, October 9th 11:30AM - 1:00PM, Campus Center Ballroom
The FSU fall semester member gathering is this Wednesday, October 9th. Please join us for a slice of pizza, meet your FSU leadership, and hear updates on union activities. This is a chance to catchup with old friends and meet new colleagues.
Health and Safety Committee: Opening to Represent the FSU
The Health and Safety Committee was formed several years ago to raise and solve community member concerns related to health and safety on campus. Each union has a representative as does the Facilities Department and Environmental Health & Safety Department.
Meetings take place the third Monday of the month at 10AM using Microsoft teams.
The FSU representative position is open. If you are interested, please send an email explaining your interest by October 16th at 4PM to fsu@umb.edu . The FSU Executive Committee will review all submittals and vote to appoint our representative.
FSU Elections: Tenured and Non-Tenured Track representatives.

Anti Racism Grants: Application Deadline is November 1st
The application deadline is Friday, November 1st at 4PM EST.
Travel Funds
Article 26.6.1(b) of the contract provides tenured and tenure track faculty, Clinical Professors (all ranks), and Librarians (all ranks) with up to $1,150 in reimbursements for travel related to scholarly, research, or creative works. For instructions on how to obtain reimbursements per the Travel Funds clause of the contract see this information from the provost’s website.
Note: The Core Bargaining Team has proposed to increase the award amount to $1,500. Watch for updates from the Team.
MTA: Yes on 2 Campaign
Last week the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) adopted a resolution in support of Yes on 2. Over the next four weeks, watch for campus activities aimed at providing information on the ballot question.

Nuts & Bolts is taking a break next Monday, October 14th for Indigenous Peoples Day Holiday and will return October 21st. To those who teach MWF, October 14th is one of two Monday holidays this semester!
