Contract validated and other news from the FSU

Dear Colleagues,

►Your contracts have been validated by the Governor, with an additional $2.2million for our contracts.  Will this be enough money to get our raises?  We don’t know.  Stay tuned.

Next action to get our raises: Wednesday, April 8, 1-1:30 pm, Quinn 2nd floor in front of the elevators.

► If you have not yet already done so, please contact your legislators to stop Governor Baker's budget proposal to increase the GIC health insurance premium split for state employees and future retirees. Tell them what this means to your budget given your own and your family's health needs.

To call or email your legislator, go to: https://malegislature.gov/People

The following is being proposed:

•    Active state employees will pay 25 percent of the cost of their health insurance premium beginning on July 1, 2015. Currently, those hired on or before June 30, 2003 and their dependents pay 20 percent.

•    The cost increase to active state employees would be $300-$480 more per year for individuals and $720-$1,200 more per year for people enrolled in family plans.

Sincerely,
Marlene Kim
