Update From the FSU

Dear Colleague,

We hope you had a great break!  The FSU has been busy.  Here are a few updates:

•          We are concerned about the budget cut discussions on campus.  We have asked the Chancellor for a public forum on this and his latest email sounds like this may occur.
•          We are still in negotiations with the Administration on three separate issues: an early retirement incentive for faculty, tuition waiver benefits for spouses and dependents, and          the nursing clinical track. We will update members with any developments. 
•          We are preparing for bargaining.  We will be reaching out for suggestions soon but feel free to send us suggestions now.  
•          We are still discussing contract conversion issues for NTTs.  An update is here.
•          We are busy with grievances.  An update is here.
•          We welcome any volunteers with the FSU.  If you want to help with, state elections work (including charter school issues in the fall and Fair Share Amendment), our                          membership organizing campaign, other organizing campaigns, research for bargaining, serving on a committee, or anything else, please let us know.  This union is only as            strong as members are involved.  Please get involved with us.
