Dear Colleagues,
Here are some activities you may be interested in:
►Help UMass Lowell Adjunct Faculty
UMass Lowell adjuncts have been negotiating their second contract for 11 months, and the University argues that they should not have parity with sister campuses at UMass Boston and Amherst, both in benefits (health care and retirement) and compensation (some members make 34% less than their colleagues here.)
· Join them (bring friends & family!) for their informational rally Wednesday April 20 at 3:30pm at UMass University Club, 1 Beacon St, Boston.
· Sign the petition at https://www.change.org/p/support-umass-lowell-adjunct-faculty
►Reminder: NTT and Adjunct Gathering, this Sunday, April 17, 10-2, Campus Center Ballroom – agenda is attached.
►Benefits Representative on campus Tuesday for MTA Long-Term Disability Insurance
The MTA offers a different long-term disability plan than the university. If you are interested in enrolling in this or transferring from the UMB to the MTA plan, representatives of the MTA disability insurance program (it is a private company) will be on the UMass Boston campus on Tuesday April 19th in the Union Conference Room (Quinn 02/081) to provide information, answer questions and enroll members. Please note that this is only available to MTA members.
Although walk-ins can be accommodated, it is better to sign up in advance at www.myenrollmentschedule.com/mta or by calling 1-866-998-2915. Since appointments were set-up under the Professional Staff Union (PSU), members of FSU have to select "U-Mass, Professional Staff Union" on the online schedule and select a time, or identify yourself to the call center as being with the PSU.
