Bargaining update meeting this Thursday, MTA Annual Meeting, and other information

Dear Colleague,

As always, a lot us going on.  Please join us this Thursday at our bargaining update to give us your thoughts, or email us if you have not yet done so.   

► Bargaining Update this Thursday, March 22nd, 2-3:15, University Hall, 4th floor, Classroom 4180.  The Faculty Staff Union will be updating bargaining unit members on contract negotiations, including parking. Members of the FSU bargaining team will be on hand to provide you with the latest information and to answer your questions. ► Staff at the William Joiner Institute will be reduced from 5.5 FTEs a year ago to 1.5 FTEs on July 1, 2018, with no staff being full-time, even the director.  They are asking for people to sign their petition here.   

 

For FSU members in good standing:

 

Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) Annual meeting:  Friday and Saturday, May 4-5, 2018, at the Hynes Convention Center, Boston, MA.  We will be electing the President and Vice-President of the MTA, so we are looking to fill our slate of 16 delegates plus alternates.  Voting for these positions will occur on Saturday, May 5.   Let the FSU know if you want to be a delegate or alternate, should a delegate be unable to attend (see here for more information). 

 

 

► REMINDER: Fourth year/tenure and promotion review informational workshop: will be held Thursday, March 29, 2-4 in the Integrated Sciences Complex, 3rd Fl., Room 3300. The Office for Faculty Development and the FSU will be hosting this

The union is only as strong as members are involved.  Let us know if you want to be involved in the union, serve on our membership drive, a committee, or help with any of these issues. If you have not yet joined as a full member we urge you to do so now! (contact the FSU office for membership materials).
