Dear Colleagues,
The Faculty Staff Union (FSU) holds an election every Spring semester for positions on the FSU Executive Committee.
The positions up for election or re-election in Spring 2020 include:
President
Librarian representative,
Pre-tenure (1 position),
Tenured (2 positions),
Non-Tenure track (2 positions).
The attached document contains an election overview along with the schedule of election activities including nominations, campaigning and voting.
Term of Office: Each Executive Committee member’s term runs two (2) years. For example, those elected in 2019 began their term in June (at the conclusion of the academic year) and serve to May 2021, the end of the academic year.
2020 Election: Due to the resignation of a Tenured Track and a Non-Tenure Track Executive Committee member, the Executive Committee voted, upon the recommendation of the Elections Committee, that the person who replaces each member will begin their term of office immediately after the election results are published. The top vote getter for Tenured Track and Non-Tenure Track will be considered as the replacement for the resigned member and will take office in March. As a result, the term of office will run from March to May 2020 and June 2020 to May 2022.
Voting Platform: We have made a change in our voting platform. We will be using ElectionBuddy software. ElectionBuddy will be sending you your ballot and they will answer any ballot access questions during the week-long voting period. As we approach the voting period, we will provide detailed information on receiving your ballot from ElectionBuddy.
The Elections Committee has our own email account, FSU.Elections@umb.edu. Watch for election communications to come from this email address.
