PICKET Tomorrow, Wed. April 4, 8:30—9:30 am, 1 Beacon Street (1 block from the Park Street T Station), Boston: Janelle Quarles, President of the Classified Staff Union, and Tom Kane, Director of the Joiner Center, will be addressing the Board of Trustees’ Administration and Finance Committee meeting on how the budget cuts have affected staff, students, and the university.

Dear Colleagues:

We hope your semester is going well.  Here’s the latest news:  

Public Higher Education Lobby Day:  Monday, March 5th, 10-2 pm, State House (actual lobbying is 11:30 to 1).  This is the day we turn out to ask state legislators for more money for higher education and for other higher education student needs (see link here for more information).

Dear Colleagues:

We usually have a welcome back letter at the beginning of the semester, with events of interest, but so many things occurred, we never did.  So please let me belatedly welcome new faculty and librarians to campus and for those who are returning, welcome you back to campus.  We will have more information shortly on the progress of bargaining and on the latest parking fee increase proposal from the Administration.
