PMYR- Issue With ‘Dissenting’ Letters

The FSU received notice that a member's PMYR file included a letter from a DPC member that was not part of the official DPC submission to the file (a 'dissenting' letter; i.e. a letter not formally submitted by either the DPC, department chair, or dean). The Grievance Committee reviewed the issue and assessed that only the letters formally submitted into the record by the review parties (chair, DPC, dean) can be included in a member's PMYR file. We informed the Administration of our position and asked them to reply with an indication of what their position is on this matter. The Administration agreed with our assessment. We are waiting to formalize this agreement in a memorandum of understanding.
