FSU Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

October 7, 2025 3:30pm (Zoom)

Executive Committee Members Present: Caroline Coscia (President); Jason Rodriquez (Vice President); Brian White; Karen Grayson; Lynne Benson; Monique Fuguet; Meredith Laferte- Coutu

Others Present: Lorenzo Nencioli (FSU Senior Staff Member); Katie D’Urso (MTA Field Rep);

1. Approval of Minutes:

Minutes from prior meetings will be approved at the next Ex Com meeting.

   2. Voting Items:

CLR/Stipend approval- Motion to approve CLR’s/Stipends (see below). Motion seconded. Motion approved unanimously.

IT Acceptable Usage Policy- Discussion. Noted that Brian cannot attend the next ATC meeting and that Caroline will ask Travis Johnston to convey FSU concerns. Motion to formally ask Travis Johnston to represent FSU concerns at the Academic Technology Committee in their discussions with IT to create a revised policy. Motion seconded. Motion approved unanimously.

   3. Andrew Leong ICE Workshop:

Discussion of plans for workshop.

   4. FSU T-Shirts:  

Katie notes that MTA graphic designer is working on new FSU logo. Will have hopefully next week, then can work on new shirts.

   5. Communications Committee:

Meredith has been working with Suisui Wang. She would like to send a call to members in Nuts and Bolts to join committee. Wants to highlight FSU pizza breaks on social media, have themes for each event (next one will be about salary concerns).

   6. FSU Mission and Vision Discussion:

Discussion of needs and uses of mission statement. Noted that membership as a whole should be involved in the process of creating a mission statement. Agreed to discuss again at the next meeting.

   7. Africana Studies Renovation:

Update given (noted that furniture should be arriving in early November).
