2023-2024 contract funding status: We are waiting for the state legislature to vote on the supplemental budget. It will happen. The unknown is when. We are in contact with MTA Government Relations staff who are pushing legislators to move the bill. We will inform you when there is a vote.
University Dining
Last week we shared that the space is open Monday to Friday 11:30AM-2:00PM. The room is sunny with a great view of the water but that is it – no napkins, no utensils, no food! We have requested that dining services at the very least provide napkins, utensils, water, a microwave and to extend the hours. We will keep you posted when we get a response to our request.
MTA Benefits: Student Loan Management & Forgiveness Webinars
Learn about the fundamentals of federal student loan repayment and forgiveness options, including the One-Time Payment Count Revision for Eligible IDR Borrowers and the newly extended deadline. The hosts at Cambridge Credit Counseling will also show parents of college students how to have their Parent PLUS loans forgiven. Finally, they will discuss the pros and cons of consolidating private loans and the important changes made to loan repayment during the pandemic. For a list of webinar dates, go to https://www.mtabenefits.com/student-loan-webinars?emci=843ed5ee-a846-ee11-a3f1-00224832eb73&emdi=157953ef-2a4c-ee11-a3f1-00224832eb73&ceid=18472294
Save the Date………
The FSU will be holding a Fall semester general member meeting on Tuesday, October 17th from 2:00PM to 3:30PM. We’ll provide updates on our activities along with the status of parking bargaining (our proposal includes MBTA subsidies). This will be a hybrid event.
