Nuts & Bolts: Congratulations, Senior Lecturer Workloads, University Dining and Member Meeting

10/16/2023

Dear Members,

FSU Executive Committee Election:  Congratulations

Congratulations to our three new Tenured Faculty Representative on the FSU Executive Committee.

Souha Ballout, Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences

Patricia Krueger- Henney, College of Education and Human Development

Wei Zhang, College of Management

Workloads: Senior Lecturer II and Senior Lecturer IIIs

The 2020-2023 contract added a new NTT rank of Senior Lecturer III and provided one CLR a year for fulltime continuing Senior Lecturer IIs and two CLRS each year for fulltime continuing Senior Lecturer IIIs (see Article 21.2.3). Each CLR comes with the expectation of additional service. The FSU recommends that departments and FSU members strive for equity in service loads when considering service assignments.

University Dining (UDC):  Working Group being formed.

Provost Berger and Vice Chancellor Kirleis are convening a working group to examine options to enhance the UDC.  The FSU has a seat on the committee.  Lynne Bensen, NTT Executive Committee member, is our representative.

University Dining: Closed on Thursday, October 19th

It has come to our attention that the CLA Advising Event is being held October 19th from 12:00PM to 3:00PM in the UDC.  The event location was booked weeks before the re-opening of UDC.  Please adjust your schedule accordingly.

Reminder:  Tuesday, October 17th Member Meeting, 2-3:30

The purpose of the meeting is to update you on our activities along with getting your input on proposals concerning parking and transportation.  For more information including reading the parking and transportation bargaining proposal, see our October 13th email.

Reminder: Website concerns, sign the petition

We received numerous member emails about the new website. As a result, the FSU Executive Committee adopted a statement of concern along with a petition.  Please review the information and sign the petition.  Later this week it will be presented to the Chancellor.
