Dear Members,
The Faculty Staff Union (FSU) holds an election every Spring semester for positions on the FSU Executive Committee. The deadline for nomination is 5pm tomorrow (Friday), February 8.
The positions up for election or re-election include:
Vice-President
Pre-tenure (1 position),
Tenured (2 positions),
Non-Tenure track (2 positions).
Recall that the Vice-President office is currently vacant. The Executive Committee voted to hold a special election for the VP slot whereby the winner of the VP election will take office immediately upon conclusion of the election, not at the end of the semester.
The attached documents contains information regarding the election process specifically on nominations and campaigning, as well as the nomination forms.
Caroline Coscia resigned from the Elections Committee. Jessica Holden was voted in by the Executive Committee to join the Elections Committee. The Executive Committee also passed the following motion related to the elections process:
All candidates for FSU election will be given in-person access, in the FSU Office, to the list of their voters’ and constituencies’ names and departments during the campaign period. All candidates will be given the opportunity to send one email to their voters and constituencies through the FSU email address. Elections Committee will decide when the email goes out but all the emails will go out the same day. The Elections Committee will have the independent authority to direct the FSU staff to contact the membership regarding elections.
SAVE THE DATE: FSU elections candidate forum, Wednesday, February 27th, 3-4. More information to come.
