Dear FSU Member,
The FSU Elections Committee invites you to attend the upcoming Candidate Forum.
When: Wednesday, March 4th
Time: 3:00 – 4:00PM
Location: M-1-209
Forum Format
a. Introduction: The order of candidate introductions will be a drawing of election constituencies. There will be five pieces of paper in a bag from which we will draw. Within each constituency, the order will be chosen alphabetically. There are five (5) constituencies: President, Librarian, Tenured, Pre –Tenure, and Non-Tenured.
b. Questions: Those in attendance can ask questions of the candidates. In addition, the Elections Committee will be accepting questions from February 27th to March 2nd
A member may submit a question using one of the following methods. 1) Send an email to FSU.Elections@umb.edu using the subject line ‘Forum Question’. 2) Send via interoffice mail or deliver your question addressed to either Joseph Brown or Caroline Coscia, Political Science Dept. Office, Wheatley, 5th floor.
The Elections Committee reserves the right to not allow a question that is personal in nature or not within the framework of the position’s responsibilities.
c. Closing statement: Using the same order as Introductions, each candidate will have one (1) minute for a closing statement.
For those unable to attend, we will be video recording the forum which will then be posted to the FSU Facebook page.
Reminder -The Elections Committee reminds you of the following:
1. Removal of any candidate’s flyer/poster is prohibited.
2. Respecting each candidate is of the utmost importance in a democratic society.
Voting will take place beginning Friday, March 6th at 9:00AM EST and conclude on Friday, March 13th at 9:00AM EDT. You will receive a ballot in your email from Electionbuddy. We will send a detailed email prior to voting.
