Dear FSU Members,
[Friday 9am - contact the FSU office for Zoom info]
We have been negotiating with the Administration and may need to decide whether (a) to move forward with a modified version of expanded bargaining that would allow some, but not all, FSU members to participate in bargaining sessions (b) or to continue to push for full expanded bargaining in which all members of FSU would be able to participate in bargaining. The Core Bargaining Team will outline (what we see as) the positives and negatives associated with both options. Ultimately, if we believe it is necessary do anything less than full open bargaining we will call a special General Assembly meeting to discuss and vote on it. Regardless, Friday will be an important step in this process. Please join us! Relevant FSU policy below.
FSU policy:
The FSU bargaining team will by default allow all FSU members to attend all main- and side-table bargaining sessions, whether negotiating the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) or a CBA-related Memoranda of Understanding (MOA). Members will be informed of the time and location of all bargaining sessions. All negotiations should take place at the bargaining table in front of FSU members. A special session of the general assembly will be called to deliberate any proposed decision to engage in limited closed negotiations if these appear to be in the best interest of the FSU--- FSU Annual Meeting, 5/10/19
