The ad hoc committee presently operating The Point received the message below from our esteemed colleague Prof. Paul Watanabe. This committee is relaying this message of support and solidarity as an urgent response to the horrifying attack at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

My colleagues of color,
I want to express my sincere love and appreciation for your willingness and courage to join as faculty and as educators in these truly difficult and demanding times. The white supremacists and nationalists who have taken a firm hold of much of this nation have predictably targeted folks like us. Please remember Professors Chang and Takemura and Navarro-Velez.
