FSU Nuts and Bolts: Spring activities

1/23/2023

Dear Members,

Happy New Year and welcome to Spring semester.  Ironically, I write this with snow falling.

This semester’s first issue of Nuts & Bolts is a preview of upcoming activities.

Executive Committee Meetings

Your union is governed by a thirteen-member executive committee comprised of a President, Vice President, four (4) tenured faculty, two (2) pre-tenured faculty, one (1) librarian and four (4) non-tenured track faculty.

Nuts & Bolts: Twas the week before grades due…….

12/19/2022

Dear Member,

Twas the week before grades due, when bluebooks amass

Not a paper was late, not even a one

The grading taking place by daylight with care

In hopes to finish by the deadline for sure

(My apologizes to our English colleagues and to Clement Clark Moore)

This is the final Nuts & Bolts of the semester. Before we say goodbye for a while, we wanted to provide a few reminders including one on public higher education funding.

FSU Nuts & Bolts: Elections, On-Line Course Development, and Additional Classes

12/12/2022

Dear Member,

Ah…the last week of classes. The end of lecture preps and the beginning of final grading and of course this all happens during the holiday season.   This issue of Nuts & Bolts contains an announcement and two reminders.

FSU Annual Elections: 2023 Announcement

Each Spring, FSU members elect members to the FSU Executive Committee, the governing body of your union.  Election is by constituency except for the positions of president and vice-president.

Welcome From the Faculty Staff Union

9/6/2022

Dear Members,

Happy new academic year!  The next few days are exciting as we reconnect with colleagues, meet new colleagues, greet our students, and try to find our classrooms.   Since last semester, the plaza has added new pavers, the quad is starting to take shape and parking Lot D is back open.

The Faculty Staff Union (FSU) is gearing up for a busy year.
