UMass Budget and Board of Trustees

Dear FSU Members,

The FSU is monitoring the UMass budget situation that was reported at yesterday’s Board Of Trustees meeting and will follow up with members as we learn more.  The MTA’s response is here.  In terms of UMB, we know:

• Fall enrollment is considerably stronger than initial predictions (and seems to be getting more solid by the week).  This is good.  More students means more classes for faculty to teach. 
• Admin expects that more of the NTT faculty who received non-reappointment letters will be rehired in the coming weeks.  There are no firm figures yet.   

We will update members as we learn anything more concrete.
