Introducing the FSU LGBTQIA+ Caucus

On behalf of the newly formed LGBTQIA+ Caucus, we want to thank all of those who submitted slides and attended the first 5 and a Slide event. There are fascinating things happening across the university and it was a joy to see this work presented in a fun and laidback atmosphere. To those who couldn’t come, we will likely have another go at this event in the future.

And yes, you read that correctly! We are now the LGBTQIA+ Caucus. As a caucus we have a more formal relationship with the FSU and we imagine a space for union members to gather not just socially and in scholarship but to agitate and advocate for members of our caucus. Our caucus, more importantly, works because we work.

Jessica, Janna, and Timothy are planning the next event and will have more information as soon as we can. In the meantime, think about what you want our caucus to be. If you have any ideas for scholarly or social gatherings, please let us know especially if you are interested in planning or taking lead.

Finally, when you see our events, please understand that they are open for all our members who want to be in community with the caucus.
