Covid – get tested now and encourage students to do the same

1/18/2022

Dear FSU Members,

As many of you know, universities across the region and country are requiring Covid testing and N95/KN95 masks (and social distancing) as higher ed institutions return to class during the Omicron spike.   The UMass system has decided not to implement any additional safety measures beyond what was in place for the Fall.

Covid Testing remains available on campus, however, and the FSU encourages all members to get tested prior to the start of the semester – and please encourage your students to do so as well.  In the absence of mandatory testing, we should all avail ourselves of this university service – so people know whether they are positive (and hence should stay home) and to give us some sense of overall Covid rates (which is why it is important to get tested on campus).

Stay safe,

FSU
