UMB Teach-In on Dorchester Bay City

3/31/2021

Dear FSU Members,

See the attached beautiful flyer!  You are invited to a teach-in on the Dorchester Bay City Development (aka Bayside) on Thursday April 15th from 3-4:30.       (contact FSU or Steve Striffler for registration information).

The event is co-sponsored by the FSU, Undergraduate Student Government, Graduate Employee Organization, Classified Staff Union, Professional Staff Union, College Republicans, and College Democrats, as well the Vice President of PHENOM, Izabel Depina.

Come learn about the plans for developing the Bayside lot into “Dorchester Bay City,” a $$multi-million development the size of two Empire State Buildings with significant potential impacts on racial, economic, and environmental justice. Featuring commentary and discussion from UMB professors Ken Reardon and Jack Wiggin and members of Dot Not 4 Sale, a resident-led community alliance committed to centering the needs and voices of families most-at-risk of displacement throughout Dorchester.

Steve Striffler

FSU President
