4/17/20
Dear FSU members,
We write to invite you to a Q and A with the Core Bargaining Team about impact bargaining around COVID-19 (see FSU COVID-19 webpage here), including (a) the tentative agreement on FSU-specific issues reached with Admin on 4/8 and (b) the ongoing bargaining around the larger union-coalition proposal. We also want to hear your thoughts about additional issues/concerns that may need to be addressed in future impact bargaining – the COVID-19 crisis continues and new bargaining issues will arise as we think more about the Summer sessions and Fall semester.
There will be two Q and A sessions: Wednesday (4/22) from 3pm to 4pm and Thursday (4/23) from 3pm to 4pm.
Wednesday -- https://umassboston.zoom.us/j/93893107674
Thursday - https://umassboston.zoom.us/j/98196013254
We have attached (a) the tentative agreement that was reached with Admin around FSU-specific issues as well as (b) the most recent version of the larger (and evolving) bargaining proposal that the FSU developed with the other campus unions around issues that we share in common with Staff, Grad Students, and Department Chairs. To clarify, the FSU-specific tentative agreement deals with Faculty/Librarian-specific issues (i.e. that don’t apply to staff, students), and is part of the larger proposal that we developed with the PSU, CSU, GEO, and DCU around shared concerns (i.e. each of the other unions also have sections dealing with issues specific to their members). We are still negotiating the larger-shared issues portion of the proposal; and although we have a tentative agreement on the FSU-specific portion, it will not be official until agreement on the entire proposal is reached.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday or Thursday.
Sincerely,
Core Bargaining Team
