BUSINESS
- Welcome and Introductions: Executive Committee members introduce themselves.
- Bargaining Update: Currently negotiating 2020-2023 contract. FSU now has expanded bargaining; up to 30 non-Core Bargaining Team members may attend bargaining sessions as non-speaking audience members.
- Faculty of Color Report: Discussion of FSU’s response to the FOC Report. FSU will hold a forum with the faculty union president at Rutgers on this topic.
- Grievance Update: 5 grievance officers. Discussion of Grievance Committee process.
- FSU Forums: Series of informational forums every couple of weeks on various topics. Upcoming forum: departmental governance and the role of NTTs in departments.
- FSU Committees: Discussion of how to get involved with FSU committees. Committees include Core Bargaining Team, Anti-Racism Committee, Salary Anomaly Committee, Associate Lecturer Review Committee, and others. Some committees are long-standing, and some are ad hoc and focus on specific issues. FSU committee service can be counted as required service for AFRs and ALRs.
- MTA Higher Education: Discussion of statewide campaign to maintain level funding for higher education. October 13 MTA Higher Education town hall with updates on regional actions. October 29 event at State House with a virtual component: teach-in and call to legislature for funding.
