Ex Com E-Vote, April 21, 2020, Recommendation on FSU Bylaws Change

FSU EX COM E-VOTE 4/21/20

Ex Com was asked by email on 4/20/20 to vote on the following (see proposed bylaws changes below at end of document). The FSU Executive Committee voted to approve the motion (9 votes in favor, none opposed).

Lorenzo sent out the one I did, not the one Katie amended (very similar but in different colored print).  The one Katie did is attached.  Sorry.  Just saw this.  I will assume the one attached is okay unless I hear otherwise but would be good if everyone can vote again.  I guess by email not by doodle this time.  Sorry again.

Subject: vote on this bylaw change now

Hi everyone,

You all wanted to amend the bylaws in order to add Jessica to the core bargaining team.  Katie made the suggested language changes that we sent out on Thursday and that is attached again.  The discussion period ended Saturday evening and we need to send out bylaw change language tomorrow to our members for approval at the annual meeting if this is to go forward.  Please see the thread below and vote now if you want to add Jessica to the core bargaining team.  This is the first step in the process as we discussed.

ARTICLE VI: COMMITTEE

Section 9: A core bargaining team shall be established as the need arises. The President shall recommend, for approval of the Executive Committee, members to serve on the core bargaining team to negotiate a successor Agreement or to negotiate agreements on any other subject of bargaining as agreed to by the FSU and the Administration. The core bargaining team for the successor agreement shall usually consist of four to ten members, but can be comprised of fewer or more, if needed, and its membership shall be open to all members of the chapter. Bargaining teams empowered to negotiate any other agreements shall be populated according to need. Membership on these teams shall be open to all members of the chapter. Term of office shall cease upon execution of a new Agreement.
