Welcome to the first issue of Nuts & Bolts, a weekly Faculty Staff Union (FSU) member email focusing on our contract, policies, bargaining and to share campus information.   

We are calling this issue Union 101.  Many times, we use acronyms when talking with colleagues and friends. The FSU is no exception. This issue aims to provide insight on these, including information on the FSU’s structure, operations, and our relationships.

Dear FSU Members,

The first FSU Executive Committee of the year will be held on Wednesday, September 14^th 3:00PM - 4:30PM. 

These meetings are open to all members.   

The meetings will be hybrid. For those joining in person, we are meeting in ISC 1 - 1400. For those on zoom, a link will be sent closer to the meeting date.

The Classified Staff Union (CSU) members are essential to the operations of UMB in countless ways: their work literally makes UMB work.   And now they need our support and solidarity.

Dear Members, 

Happy new academic year!  The next few days are exciting as we reconnect with colleagues, meet new colleagues, greet our students, and try to find our classrooms.   Since last semester, the plaza has added new pavers, the quad is starting to take shape and parking Lot D is back open.  

The Faculty Staff Union (FSU) is gearing up for a busy year.
